Contact - Titan

Siren's Watch/The Rig, New Pacific Arcology, Titan

The Guardian deploys a containment bank underneath a Pyramid Scale and joins other Guardians to charge the Seed of Silver Wings with Darkness.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Bank firing in. Signal tracking. Kid, you're on deck.

Eris Morn: Harvest all the Darkness you can muster. Now is not the time for mercy.

Drifter: Ooh, Moondust, you've got a mean streak.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Is their message a warning? A trick? We can't know until we hear their words for ourselves.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: I cannot shake the troubling notion that we are feeding a ritual. It serves our purpose, yes — but what other schemes advance by our hand? Perhaps if we had listened sooner, on the Moon, we would have been more prepared.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: We never wanted this fight, Guardian. But it is one we cannot run from… no matter what the Drifter says.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Your position will come under fire soon, Guardian. Do your duty.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Our foes are infested with Darkness. Take it from them!

// OPTIONAL

Zavala: Operational overwatch established. Light guide you, Guardian. The Drifter is useful, but the cost of dealing with him does not end with Glimmer. Whatever scam he's running… be wary.

// OPTIONAL

Zavala: Energy output has increased from the Pyramids, Guardian. Time is not on our side.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Darkness building up right on your head. Bank down. Expect friends real soon.

Eris Morn: Harvest their Dark remnants for the Seed. Bring clarity to our cause.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Mini-bank en route. Put your mean faces on.

Eris Morn: The Darkness presents us an opportunity to further understand its intentions. Seize it.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: I have heard that Titan used to be the jewel of Saturn. People would stare at the planet's rings all night and be filled with awe.

Drifter: Eh, until they got bored. Then they'd move on to the next jewel.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: People used to tell stories about this place during the Dark Age. Treasures buried in the methane. Stuff like that.

Eris Morn: Did the Drifter ever chase any of these stories?

Drifter: No. Heard a big crew lost twenty wave crawlers out there… and it wasn't from no storm.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: This place is a dump.

Eris Morn: It's an important strategic position in the system.

Drifter: It smells, too.

Eris Morn: You're not even there.

Drifter: I can still smell it.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Eh, how do they know every damn time? You got incoming left, right, and center.

Eris Morn: Like Prometheus offering the flame. They cannot turn it away.

Drifter: Guardians come up with the craziest names.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: How many Pyramids drift out beyond our sight?

Drifter: What's here is enough to make a statement… there have to be more.

Eris Morn: Rasputin would agree, so I've heard.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: The Darkness would not speak without a reason. We must listen.

Ghost: It lies. That's what it does.

Eris Morn: I share your apprehension, Little Light. We will proceed with caution.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Bank down. So. Wild card with a chip on her shoulder… can be tough to manage.

Ghost: Eris survived the Hellmouth. Lightless. She doesn't need management.

Drifter: Yeah. And who got her there?

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: I know we need his tech, but please tell me you don't trust the Drifter.

Drifter: Talking behind my back? Here, I thought Ghosts were honest and noble.

Ghost: Ghosts talk. We know who you are.

Drifter: Rumours. Like an ace up their sleeve. Trust, right, Hero?

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: This isn't my favorite idea.

Drifter: You don't get a vote, partner.

Ghost: I know what you do to your partners.

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: This isn't my favorite idea.

Drifter: You don't get a vote, partner.

Ghost: I already have a partner.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Watch your back, Hero. Ain't nobody else doing it for you.

Eris Morn: I will.

Ghost: Me too.

Drifter: Words, words, words. Let's see who's there when things get really bad.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Command weighs heavy on Zavala. He presents a stoic image, but his mind…

Ghost: No one has ever stood against the Darkness and won, Eris.

Eris Morn: Yes. The City requires his attention. We must be his strength in the field.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: The Golden Age harbored powers beyond imagination, and yet they fell to the Collapse.

Zavala: When the Collapse struck, they didn't have Guardians.

Eris Morn: I agree. Though I fear it is not our might that will avert this crisis, Commander.

The Guardian deposits Motes into the containment bank. Taken appear and attack the bank.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Taken blocking my gear! Clear 'em out!

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Hey, those aren't my Taken. Get them off my gear!

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Bank offline! Taken signatures all over it.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Bank's cut off, partner. Sweep it clean!

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Hey… HEY! Taken stooges are messing up my bank!

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Pawns of the Witch Queen! Protect the contraption!

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Taken scouts. Wipe them away before Savathûn takes notice!

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Savathûn's pets swarm our containment unit!

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Taken! Destroy them, Guardian.

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: Sterile neutrinos? Taken! On the bank!

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: Picking up Taken signals. They're on the bank!

The Guardian deposits more Motes into the bank. Taken Will of Quria appears.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

The Guardian deposits Blooms from the Pyramid Scale and prevents the Taken from extracting Blooms from the bank. Taken Pyromaster, Taken Monstrosity, or Taken Howler appears instead of Taken Will of Quria.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Eris Morn: They come for the Seed. Savathûn commands great strength to wield Quria so. The Seed must survive. Fight well.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Drifter: Hey, hotshot. Big nasty Taken headed your way. Keep that bank in one piece.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Drifter: Eh, something's jamming the signal. Ooh, you've got company. Slug it out a bit. Gonna get a frickin' wrench.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Drifter: Picking something up… Those are Taken signatures. You've got incoming.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Eris Morn: She has found us! Drawn to the coalescing Dark. Stand fast!

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Eris Morn: Guardian, the Taken draw power from nearby infestations of Darkness. They must not stop us now.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Eris Morn: The witch sends a sword. Brash. Is this desperation or a show of strength?

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Eris Morn: Savathûn… our actions have sent reverberations through her web. Prepare yourself, Guardian. This battle is not over.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Eris Morn: Pull back your contraption. The Taken have found us!

Drifter: You can either start chanting or buy me a few minutes. Let Drifter work!

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Drifter: Something big's moving in.

Eris Morn: The Witch Queen's wretched marionette, and upon its tongue, her violent regards.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

Drifter: Taken energy spiking.

Eris Morn: New growths, Guardian. They sustain this Taken monstrosity. Break them.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians do not activate the Heroic Public Event

The Guardians defeat Taken Will of Quria.

// OPTIONAL

If the Guardians activate the Heroic Public Event

The Guardians defeat Taken Pyromaster, Taken Monstrosity, or Taken Howler.

Savathûn's Taken retreats and the Pyramid Scale departs. The bank collects 100% of resonate energy and refines its quality.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: You think they're scared of you?

Eris Morn: No. It is the only reason I am willing to listen.

Drifter: Hmm. You ain't as blind as you look.

Eris Morn: The liberal application of Light… simplifies problems for those unwilling to pursue other means.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Titan… never bounced back after the Collapse. Fine by me. Still a quiet place to camp out when things get rough.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Time to pack it in. I'll scrub the bank for the next round. You cleaned up real good.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: This is not how I expected to meet the Darkness. I find their willingness to speak… disappointing. I would rather the war than this invasive indifference.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: From Titan to Mercury, their shadow reaches. The Reef… is surrounded. We are surrounded. And yet we must move forward. Petra. How fare you in this chaos?

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Well done, Guardian. Savathûn's goals slip farther from her grasp.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: A small victory, perhaps, but one that inches us closer to an answer.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: You ever seen Taken here? Before this?

Eris Morn: No.

Drifter: Bingo. Methane makes them wig out.

Eris Morn: Curious… The Witch Queen must feel threatened to direct Quria's forces to Titan.

Drifter: Yeah, made setting up Deep Six a tough nut to crack. But, I did it.

Eris Morn: Gambit yields valuable intelligence. Is this why the Vanguard haven't thrown you from the Tower?

Drifter: Hah! They're probably just busy arguing over who should come and do it.

Eris Morn: [stifled laughter]

Drifter: [stifled laughter]

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: You ever seen the long-boy in the soup?

Eris Morn: I… don't understand the question.

Drifter: Big ol' snake swimming around Titan. Oh, ho ho ho! Drifter knows something Moondust doesn't.

Eris Morn: It's not a snake. With your symbols, I would have expected you to know that.

Drifter: Come again?

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Playing in the Dark's not so bad, huh? You got any Praxic friends, Moondust?

Eris Morn: The Order defends the Vanguard's operational authority. You're safe.

Drifter: Sure. They're reasonable like that.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Hey, Moondust. I hear you're the resident Hive expert.

Eris Morn: I hear you try to cook them.

Drifter: You know what the best part is?

Eris Morn: We're wasting time-

Drifter: Eyes. Cooked just right… makes you see colors for hours.

Eris Morn: Colors?

Drifter: Lights. Like streaks-

Eris Morn: Lines. Through the world.

Drifter: You got it. I can never tell where they're going.

Eris Morn: How naive do you think I am?

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Mars falls under shadow. Hold close your knowledge, Ana. We will need you to see this night through.

Drifter: The kill bot coming back online anytime soon?

Eris Morn: It's difficult to be certain. The damage is… peculiar.

Drifter: He dropped hard, but that nutjob gunned down a star killer. Respect.

Eris Morn: True enough. The Almighty's demise brought closure for many. Perhaps Rasputin still has a part to play.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: So where's this "Witch Queen" at? Just walk in there, bang - little justice, walk out.

Eris Morn: Impossible.

Drifter: All right, you can't find her. What she look like?

Eris Morn: Savathûn has never shown her face. She feeds on our ignorance.

Drifter: Ya don't say… Savathûn… You sure that's her name?

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Offloading mini-bank. We make a slick team.

Eris Morn: I'm surprised you agreed to help us.

Drifter: Eh, we're all in the same boat.

Eris Morn: You must be truly afraid… or woefully desperate.

Drifter: You look outside? Anyone who ain't scared, ain't smart.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: King's dead, right? Thought a crew put 'em in the ground years ago. Double tap.

Eris Morn: Not a moment too soon.

Drifter: So what gives?

Eris Morn: This is the work of a mind unlike any other. A mind wrapped in fog.

Drifter: Almost like they're dreamin'?

Eris Morn: What do you know?

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Saturn still bears the scars inflicted by Oryx's vengeance. We will not permit Savathûn the same permanence.

Drifter: Reef's never been the same since. Still waiting to see if that Awoken Queen's dead or not.

Eris Morn: The Drifter doesn't keep any crows? Interesting.

Drifter: Maybe you could help me with that.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Did that require more Motes than usual?

Drifter: My math putting you off?

Eris Morn: I'm not used to so many… discrepancies.

Drifter: This mini-bank runs a 47 percent conversion. Direct injection. Doesn't get better.

Eris Morn: That seems low.

Drifter: Compared to what?

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Drifter. You've witnessed many of us rise.

Drifter: Not personally.

Eris Morn: You've had more time than most to see what we could be. What kept you away?

Drifter: Experience. Do you actually call him "Lord" Shaxx, or do you just say Shaxx?

Eris Morn: I, too, share a skepticism for authority.

Drifter: Hmph.

Eris Morn: Hmm.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: If we do not succeed, Titan will be lost. Sloane won't leave willingly.

Drifter: Guardians. You people are crazy.

Eris Morn: She is Firebreaker, a fist of radiance. I would not insult her by demanding she retreat. Nor would she listen.

Drifter: You're just tripping over each other to sacrifice yourselves.

Eris Morn: Spoken like a man who's never bled for a cause.

Drifter: Spoken like someone whose cause bled them out.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Perhaps our efforts will reveal why the Darkness holds Mercury. Heh. I'm sure Saint would contest that he has lost it. He is truly stubborn to continue manning the Lighthouse.

Drifter: Ah, he's a whackjob.

Eris Morn: He's unafraid. A trait we'll surely need in the times to come.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: You've seen dark times.

Drifter: Ages.

Eris Morn: So it feels.

Drifter: Feeling's got nothing to do with it.

Eris Morn: I remember that. It wanes… but, you know.

Drifter: Round and round.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: You're killin' it out there, Hero. Doing real good. Great even. I mean, wow! Eh… And… yeah, we're clear. How's the Shore, Sir Don… Yeah, drop's coming… handpicked Dark, banked today. Aww, can't come myself. I'm a respectable agent of the Vanguard now. [chuckles] All those shell bits they bring you… Oh, cores if you got 'em… Ah, good man.

Ghost: Does he know we can still hear him?

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: All this Darkness. It feels… suffocating.

Eris Morn: Your bravery is commendable, Little Light.

Ghost: Thank you, Eris. We'll get through this together.

Drifter: Or you'll all die.

Eris Morn: Is no one digging a grave for the Drifter?

Ghost: He would need friends for that.

Drifter: Brother, I got so many friends, I can't remember their names.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Bank coming back.

Zavala: Your report was absent from today's brief. How goes our intelligence acquisition?

Drifter: We had an agreement. I like my space.

Zavala: Had. This is a Vanguard operation. If you don't want me here, deliver your reports on time.

Drifter: Excuse me, friends. A bureaucrat needs my time.

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: Commander. We've locked another signal down from the Pyramids.

Zavala: Yes. The more of their signals we uncover, the less I understand of their intentions.

Ghost: The Darkness might be trying to show us something, Commander. But I don't think anything has changed. They are still our enemy.

Zavala: Indeed. Good luck.

// OPTIONAL

The Guardians fail to secure enough resonate energy and extract the Seed of Silver Wings.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Bank's getting dinged up. This is a lost cause, Brother. Scoot, and we'll try again when things aren't so hot.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: I'm not gonna risk my gear for nothing. Break off and we'll try again later.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: That's enough for now. We'll come back when things calm down.

// OPTIONAL

Drifter: Things aren't going our way, pal. I'm calling my gear back before it gets too banged up. Get outta there.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: We are overwhelmed. Retreat, and we will prepare ourselves better for the next assault.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: We are not able to win every engagement. There will be another chance, of that I am sure.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: Bah! There's no point continuing this attempt. Regroup. There's more battles to come.

// OPTIONAL

Eris Morn: We cannot hold this position any longer without risking our work. Take what we have and leave.

// OPTIONAL

Ghost: It's… so… Dark. Get out, before the bank ruptures!
